Dear Reader,
I don’t know where you are in the world right now, but I’m in a place where it rains every day. Sometimes it’s like the hum of a fan and at times, it is a raging storm.
And I am not just referring to the stormy weather:)

After many years, I wrote a poem on childhood. Feelings tumbled out. So did words.
That’s why I found it soothin to read
‘s post on Grief, Beauty and Other Things That Bloom. I love the lotus interpretation mentioned here. Do read it.This has been selected and showcased by The Alipore Post alongside Paperboat.
I felt over the moon when my poem was accepted.
“Did you write it?,” my father asked me, days after I had sent it to him on WhatsApp.
And I said yes.
My dad gave me a poignant look and said, “Every word had a feeling of real life to it, a rare wisdom. I thought someone my age had probably written this. But I didn’t imagine you wrote this. I am surprised.”
And then he smiled, “It is a good poem.”
Dad’s words felt like an award.
More than an award.
